Smart Light Switches That Results In Savings

Getting a smart lighting system means more than just getting the latest upgrades in technology. It's more than just not having to worry about whether you left a light on or not when you're not home. It's also more than dimming lights when you don't need them that bright. A smart light switch may do all of that, but it also saves you money.

Think about it: how many times have you accidentally left a light on in a room you weren't using? Or how many times have you switched the light on but didn't need its maximum power, especially when it's bright outside? If that resembles you, those small accidents can cause a rack up on the electricity bill...for the electricity you're not even using! If you're looking to cut your costs, it might be best to switch over. Here are 3 smart light switches worth considering that can lead you to savings.

Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch

Not only is this switch inexpensive for your bill, but it's also inexpensive to purchase. Like many smart electronics, the Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch works with both Alexa and Google Home, so you can use voice control to move the lights. It also works with Microsoft Cortana. This wi-fi-enabled smart dimmer switch controls the brightness of a room hands-free! You can also control the switch from anywhere using your smartphone in the app.

A really cool feature of this product is that there's a "gentle off" section. You can tailor your lighting to fade on with a click of the switch or a double-click to gently fade off the lights while your child drifts off to sleep (or when you fall asleep), so there's no unnecessary light usage! You can also schedule your smart switch to automatically turn on and off, whether you're home or away, so you never have to worry about if you've turned your lights off.

It is important to mention, however, that this switch requires neutral wiring. If there is no neutral wire, installation cannot be completed. Also, this dimmer works in single-pole wiring only and requires a secured 2.4 GHz wireless home connection.

Enbrighten Z-Wave Smart Rocker Light Dimmer

This light dimmer is easy to install and requires indoor in-wall installation with hardwired connections, as well as a neutral wire. The Enbrighten dimmer has able to dim at the full range, from the brightest lights to no light, which is great for movies or conferences. You can do this using voice command, as it's compatible with Alexa and Google, or you can dim it by the physical switch, or through the app. The voice commands are compatible as long as you have a Z-Wave certified hub, which includes SmartThings, Ring Alarm, Wink, ADT Pulse, ADT Command, Trane, Vivint, Nexia, Honeywell, Home Seer, Harmony Home Hub Extender, Vera, and more. The switch works with both LEDs and CFLs as well as incandescent and halogen bulbs.

This new model has improved components that have reduced the housing depth by up to 20% compared to previous Z-Wave models. And, eliminating the need for heat tabs.

CYNC Smart Switch

Unlike the other smart switches, this one doesn't require a neutral wire. The CYNC Smart Switch consists of an on-off button style and comes with Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wi-fi. The switch adds smart bulb functionality to both traditional bulbs and maintaining smart bulbs. The smart wi-fi switch lets you control the lights from outside of the home, and allows you to schedule times to turn on and off your lights (which is great for when you're on vacation and don't want people knowing the house is empty), and scene setting to traditional bulbs.

When connected to CYNC smart bulbs, the smart switch allows app or voice control even when power is turned off at the switch. And, it controls all your lights in the room from one wall switch, which is great for not only a room in your home, but an office, such as a conference room. The Smart Switch connects directly with Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices without a hub required.
